RENTOKIL INITIAL IS 2007 AGENDA APPLICATOR OF THE YEAR

 

Pycor, Inc. has awarded Rentokil Initial as the 2007 Agenda Applicator of the Year, in an awards ceremony conducted at One Esplanade Pasay City last Jan. 18, 2008.  Rentokil country manager Mr. Constante Hidalgo received the award for Rentokil, and urged his fellow pest management professionals to continue professionalizing the industry through the combined use of top quality insecticide brands like Agenda and improved customer service.  Rentokil, with main headquarters at the Discovery Center in Pasig City, also has branches in Cebu and Davao.

 

Timberpro, Inc. and Julant Pest Control Services was awarded 2nd and 3rd top Agenda Applicators respectively.

 

 

PYCOR STARTS PRESERVATION EFFORTS FOR HISTORICAL HOMES

 

Bayer National Distributor PYCOR, INC. performed a free termiticide treatment to the ancestral homeof National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal known as the Rizal Shrine in Calamba City, Laguna.  This is part of its pioneering historical site preservation program.

 

In partnership with pest control operator Rentokil Initial, Pycor utilized Bayer's revolutionary termite control product AGENDA, in addressing the shrine's termite problems and ensuring that it will be termite-free for the coming years.

 

The Rizal Shrine is a 57-year old reproduction of National Hero Jose Rizal's ancestral home built by famed architect Juan Nakpil in the 1950s.

 

"Like other historical shrines, it is plagued by moderate to heavy infestations," said site curator Malou Valeza of the National Historical Institute (NHI), the agency tasked with the preservation of Philippine antiquities and historical monuments and sites.

 

The site is currently home to various Rizaliana - books, photographs, and reproduced documents pertaining to the National Hero.  It also houses period furniture such as the "hunkoy", a native winnowing machine; a round stone sugar cane crusher, rattan-backed armchairs; marbled-topped tables; four-post beds; a "punkah", a big fan made of wood and heavy cloth with cords.

 

Using Agenda, Rentokil Initial applied a comprehensive termite colony elimination system to the Rizal Shrine. This consisted of the application of a barrier treatment around and underneath the structure.  Periodic follow-up check-ups will then be done every quarter.  The termite control program also involves a three-year warranty guarantee.

 

"There is no question why we partnered with Rentokil for this endeavor,"  said Pycor marketing director Kerry Bayron  "Given their track record, patented technology and trained professionals, it is qualified to handle the delicate job of preserving national shrines."

 

As in all its termite control projects, Rentokil started its termiticide treatment of Rizal's home with its resident entomologist determining the location of the subterranean termite infestations.  Aside from the standard treatment which consists of strategic drilling and injection of AGENDA, Rentokil technical and service manager Ben Gonzales, Jr. recommended that all the wooden part in the gallery be treated directly.  Otherwise, there is a big risk that the termite reinfestation will occur.

 

Agenda is non-repellant  It is odorless and invisible to termites and works efficiently with termites' natural behavior.  Its slow-kill formulation leads to the death of termite colonies in 2-3 months.

 

"Since AGENDA's launch in the Philippines in 2001, we have been using Agenda in nine out of ten termiticide treatments because of its very small callback from customers,"  said Constante Hidalgo Rentokil's country manager.
